Juan Pablo Pacheco is an artist, researcher, and educator from Colombia based in Madrid, and a member of the Assembly of Guardians of the Manzanares River. He has been researching and working with the Manzanares river through listening practices, audiovisual experimentation, and collective pedagogies through projects like Redes Húmedas en el Museo (2024) with Marina Monsonís, supported by hablarenarte, the Carasso Foundation, and the Reina Sofía Museum; Los Frentes del Agua (2025), supported by Todo por la Praxis; and El Río es un Canto (2025), supported by Lo que el Agua nos Dice. With a background in film, anthropology, and media arts, his work explores political ecology, technological infrastructures, and poetic imagination. through writing, video, and sound installations, sound walks and guided meditations, edible projects, and participatory pedagogies.
