The third annual Confluence of European Water Bodies took our journey to Amsterdam and Bergen aan Zee.
Taking place from 21 – 24 September 2025 and hosted by the Embassy of the North Sea, the 2025 Confluence brought together water bodies from all across Europe and beyond to gather, think, create, and strategize in workshops, thinking sessions, screenings, and world cafés. The program was inaugurated by a public talk with Robert Macfarlane, renowned author of “Is a River Alive?”, and concluded with the launch of an international coalition for the Dogger Bank.
Revisit this aquatic gathering in the short film by Pietro Torissi – and don’t miss the exhibition Nature Speaks at TBA21–Academy’s Ocean Space, Venice, where you can see Pietro’s cinematic lens follow the Confluence since its inception.
The 2025 edition of the Confluence was supported by Cultuurfonds, VriendenLoterij Fonds, Forest Peace, and Chalmers University, Sweden.
