Carmen Haro Barba holds a Ph.D. in Communication and Social Sciences and is a professor at Rey Juan Carlos University, where she was awarded the Special Doctoral Prize. She is an expert with the United Nations “Harmony with Nature” Program, where she helps promote international frameworks that incorporate the Rights of Nature. In Spain, she coordinates Redes por el Clima and the Spanish Observatory on Human Rights and the Rights of Nature, which has spearheaded the Declaration of the Manzanares River and its Assembly of Guardians. Her work connects technopolitics, ecology, critical culture, and artistic collaborative practices such as the initiatives related to the Manzanares River, Ecosistema Arganzuela, and Cuando el río habla.
